The Lamy Safari fountain pen is a great for beginners or as a daily workhorse.
It is made from ABS plastic, and comes in a great variety of colours. A flexible brass wire clip allows you to easily attach it to your notebook or pocket. Cleverly, ink windows have been cut along the barrel to allow you to check the level of ink remaining.
Although it is somewhat “large” (5 5/8″ posted and 6 5/8″ capped), the lightweight material combined with the ergonomic shape of the grip section allows for comfortable writing.
The Lamy Safari nibs are easily replaced, which makes it great for trying out different types of nibs. There is some flex to the nibs to give it some variation in the thickness of lines. The other thing about Safari nibs are that they tend to write broader so you may want to select a smaller nib size.
The Lamy Safari accepts T10 ink catridges or a convertor and can be easily flushed cleaned, which makes it a great pen for testing different type of ink.
